about

This is a song that came to me out of nowhere! I just woke up one morning with the melody and lyrics in my head, begging to be written!

And That's That is a fun, upbeat song about a guy trying to get a girl to come over but she's having none of it! It's full of energy and has been described as "insanely catchy". People say that the melody sticks in their head and they love the lyrics. It has a great, fun feel with lively, energetic and sassy, commercial vocals (so I'm told!). One review says that there are great harmonies, a good sense of timing and a strong arrangement. Another review says that the tune cleverly anchors the song and gives it subtle changes of mood. There is a lot going on here in one of the catchiest songs of the year so far!

lyrics

Verse 1:
He said hey now girl won’t you come on over
Said I don’t know about that
He said I’ll lay you down in fields of clover
Said I’m really not sure about that
Said I’m happy hun with the things I’ve done
At peace with where I’m at
So I don’t need no two bit lover
So take it away and that’s that
And that’s that

Pre-chorus:
He said come on over
Won’t you come on over
I’ll roll you over
He said come on come on come on come on

Chorus:
Oh leave me alone
I’m not coming home
I’m getting along with my life
Don’t hit up my phone
With your monotone
And all your troubles and strife
If I was into that well how I’d scurry
Running to you now, hurry hurry
I’m better alone
I’m not coming home
I’m letting you go and that’s that
And that’s that

Verse 2:
He said hey there girl I’ll love you tender
Well I don’t know about that
He said I got a cheap deal on a long weekender
Well I really don’t care about that
If I wanted a deal the world’s my oyster
But quality’s where I’m at
No cheaper than chips no two bit poser
I’m cold as a stone and that’s that
And that’s that

Pre-chorus:
He said come on over
Won’t you come on over
I’ll roll you over
He said come on come on come on come on

Chorus:
Oh leave me alone
I’m not coming home
I’m getting along with my life
Don’t hit up my phone
With your monotone
And all your troubles and strife
If I was into that well how I’d scurry
Running to you now, hurry hurry
I’m better alone
I’m not coming home
I’m letting you go and that’s that
And that’s that

Bridge:
Been there once and fought through the pain
Been there once and thought never again
Been there once and fought through the pain
Been there once, never never, never again

Chorus:
So leave me alone
I’m not coming home
I’m getting along with my life
Don’t hit up my phone
With your monotone
And all your troubles and strife
If I was into that well how I’d scurry
Running to you now, hurry hurry
I’m better alone
I’m not coming home
I’m letting you go and that’s that
And that’s that

about

Angie Kuske UK

I'm a Singer-Songwriter based in Kent, UK. I started writing lyrics in the early 90s until work took over. I gradually taught myself how to use Garageband and now create all my songs from start to finish. I write unique, catchy pop songs with an 80s influence. I believe my lyrics have meaning and imagery which I hope people can relate to. Music links: linktr.ee/AngieKuskeMusic ... more
